A New Accumulation

A New Accumulation

We’re all exhausted, bearing the cumulative weight of the last several years of division. “A New Accumulation” asks viewers to envision some small act of progress, choose the appropriate postcard and write on the back, then drop the card on the floor below. I seek a new accumulation. Made in response to an invitation from @craftdesert for the “Small Acts of Subversion” show at City Gallery in San Diego in March of 2022.

The panel refers to Wlyadyslaw Strzeminski’s 1919 poster, considered an inspiration for El Lissitzky’s later and more famous red wedge. Over 100 years later, we’re still looking for connection through labor.
